Lunar eclipse
The eclipse happens when the moon is complete because of the Earth's presence during its rotation around the sun between the moon and the sun, causing the sun's rays not to reach the moon's surface and thus not to illuminate it. Instead, the sun is located on the earth's surface and causes a shadow reflection on the moon to appear dark. It is worth mentioning that the lunar eclipse lasts only a few hours and can be seen at night from the Earth's surface. Partial eclipses occur at least twice a year, while the lunar eclipse is rare.
