EasyDex Photography Challenge Post #3 @niko3d entry
Hello, all you lovely Steemians :-)
This is my entry to the third #easydex photo challenge hosted by the great @boyerobert
This time we have a theme of hands and feet.
It reminded me of one the photos I was super proud of but hadn't really shared socially.
The story and full photo below.
My daughter had been playing in the garden on a relatively bright day, she had this new found interest in bugs and snails at the age of 5.
I had been taking photos of the family that day and suddenly she ran through the garden door.
Lighting
The lighting was amazing, with the light surrounding her through the door frame. She found a snail and created the perfect photo moment with my camera to hand :) I cranked the fstop wide open, framed the shot carefully against the background while controlling the exposure as best as I could.
This had been shot with my mirrorless Olympus Pen camera. I used a raw format and processed the image in lightroom. I recall adding a subtle split tone to control the shadow colour and adjusted the white balance to be slightly warmer.
Crop into to show detail.
I was happy with the overall clarity, composition and bokeh and my daughter also loved the photo once she's seen it after processing.
That's me for now, thanks for viewing.
Cheers
Nick aka @niko3d

Great shot @niko3d. I love the detail and overall feel of your photo. Very soft on the eyes and the snail kinda looks like it's hugging your daughters hand. Too cute :) Much Love! #steemitbloggers
Glad you like it and appreciate the comment :) haha I should have called this photo
Snail Hugs 🐌
lol ;) that would have amped up the awesomeness factor but the picture takes the cake anyway <333 right on my friend!!!

great job! enjoyed your post.
I have never shot with a mirrorless camera.

Thank you :) they are great cameras as they fit perfectly into compact Vs DSLR space size wise. But offer huge amounts of flexibility with retro lenses for example.
I haven't checked for other entries, but I wouldn't be surprised if you got yourself a winner image. Great shot!
Cheers @ijmmai :-) some great photos in this contest, always tough competition but just nice to be able to share some of my favourite photos and some new ones too.
What makes your image stand out is the vulnerability of both, the kid and the snail. Too bad I am not the judge of this contest :). Good luck though.
