Fraud or Fact? Think For Yourself...

It's Easter's - regardless of your perspective, opinions, or beliefs - today is one of the most recognized days in all of world History. The day Jesus the Christ was resurrected from the dead, three days after His crucifixion. While I would encourage you to research that and make your own decision on it's validity and impact on your life - it is without argument a marker on history that impacts nearly every nation and culture.

13 years into my personal convictions on Jesus, there is still challenges and questions that leave holes in my understanding. At times I fear the incredulous perspectives of family and friends telling me to get a handle on reality. As if my research, my intake of the Bible, or my career choices are facilitating an ultimately squandered life. Is it really worth the effort? My desire to know and understand this Historical figure has only continued to build, interfering with a so called "normal" life.

Normal...hows that going for you?

Have you learned that fearing the opinions and perspective's of others really only imprisons you?

What has happened as we, culturally, have choosen to yield our choices to fit into these societal constructs of acceptable life? Build our lives on the dollar bill they tell us, secure your education they tell us...this blackhole of 'success' that leaves minimal room for real thought or dialogue about reality.

Independent of your current perspective on Easter/Jesus - Ask yourself the question where that perspective came from.

Did you think it up for yourself? Did you allow someone you care about or trust to build it into your worldview? Do you casually throw off the responsibility of thinking for yourself and go with the cultural norm?

Here I invite you to build a thought for yourself

My intake and understanding of the person of Jesus has ultimately been what has empowered me to throw of the chains of indoctrination and to have a thought for myself. I have consistently found myself undone by this man that allowed himself to be brutally destroyed at the hands of people. The same people He spent his entire life around. For 30 years He built up convictions and a mode of thinking that ultimately led Him to His death - it also created some level of blueprint for the most impactful revolutionary that the world has ever known. In His life His convictions framed out a life that engaged the disenfranchised, choosing to invest all of His life in them empowering them to break free from their own indoctrination.

His death ultimately empowered a generation of men and women to take His story all over the known earth. It created hope and tension every where it went. Something about it interrupted peoples ability to be indoctrinated by the blind cultural norms they function in. It catalyzed the institution that we call the church - Which to date has been the greatest source of hope and pain for nearly every culture (an article for another time).

The life and death of Jesus have timeless realities that sadly most of us miss because we have dismissed Jesus by our own cultural indoctrination. If you believe He is God or not is up to you. But again, do you actually have the capacity to make that judgement on your own - or are you running on the counterfeit fumes of indoctrination? Eventually it gets exposed for what it is, an attempt to control the masses.

Jesus is the ultimate revolutionary - and I like Him will allow my credentials to be measured by the life, passion, and power seen in the generation's that follow me as I do my best to follow Him.
Happy Easter

Wonderful truth. Thanks for writing this, many people need to pause and consider these wise words.

glad you enjoyed it -

This is one thought provoking piece on the man who remains an enigma to many and a personal friend and benevolent God to many still. You called him the greatest revolutionary and I second that. He lived and preached within his locality, never really traveled far yet the entire world was and continues to be touched by his life.
