Day as Life

The Northern sky

In the gestation of the day

Diamond constellations 

Dripping from heaven.

The Eastern sky

As the day is birthed

Silently, seeping color

A brilliant point of light.

The Southern sky

Teen angst; hot as lava

Penetrating warmth surrounds the soul

Burning and life-giving

The Western sky

Twilight hours; feeble, fading 

The wisdom of the day reflected, remembered

Light fades into comforting death.
