A 6.8 quake centered on the town of Sivrice, Turkey
The aftermath of a 6.8 earthquake in Turkey on Friday evening. Our hearts go out to the people of Turkey that seem to have a large earthquake effect the country every few years.
Many of the buildings are made out of cement and concrete, so the stability is not good, building collapses are common.
The affected area has had over 500 aftershocks, including a large magnitude 5.4 quake, that rippled through the region.
At least 29 people have died in this tragic event. At least 1,466 injured, the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority said on Saturday.
It seems the government is not forthcoming in their assessment of this event, many building have collapsed, further compounding this earthquake zone.
