Will the earth be in total darkness for two weeks?
The head of the Astronomy Department at the National Institute of Astronomical and Geophysics Research, Ashraf Tadros, said Sunday that what was raised about the darkness of the planet in November is a "lie".
This comes in response to the social media, that the land will sink in the dark, for two weeks this month, in a unique phenomenon.
"What was published about the darkness of the Earth at the end of this month because of the combination of planetary flora and Jupiter is completely false," Tadros said in a statement.
"These are rumors that are very frequent at the end of each year and the beginning of the new year," he said.
"The true thing about this is the phenomenon of the coupling between Venus and Jupiter on November 13 this morning," he said.
The official said the Egyptian astronomer, that the phenomenon of "beautiful astronomical phenomena that deserve to be seen with the naked eye," stressing that "the darkness of the ground because of it is empty words and lies."
In 2015, it was rumored that the planet would face 15 days of total darkness that had not occurred for more than a million years, between November 15 and 29 of the same year, as a result of the coupling of Jupiter and Venus, which did not happen at the time.
