Some of the issues found are related to old age. Fuel pump transfer pressure had dropped off. Sticky automatic advance plunger. Fuel loadings out of sync.
We see this a lot and you need to think about getting your Diesel diagnosed and fixed. In this instance it was pretty simple and the Diagnosis, Repairs and Dyno Tuning came to around $550.
$550 isn't bad for an increase in Power of 100% compared to when this Landcruiser struggled in this morning. It may not always be that cheap but it just goes to show that Correct Diagnosis Saves Money!
Now it's running right further tuning mods like a Hi-Flo exhaust and/or Intercooler are on the cards.
Interesting but I always was under the assumption that all a dyno tune does is change the shift points so that your vehicle uses more fuel.
