In 2018 IOT will be moving from concept into mass production. Many big consulting firms say that IOT will become the backbone of driving customer interaction in the next 5 years and IOT infrastructure will become specialized and Dxchain will be a critical part of that backbone. Programmers will have a large impact on decentralized platforms and applications and whilst decentralization promises increased security, programmers will likely proceed forward with caution. The amount of resources and data required just from the Fortune 500 will be astronomical. Everything from pharmaceutical to automotive will be taking part of this revolution. Believe it or not most US firms, up to 50% of them already say they monetize their existing data whereas in Europe, that figure is under 30%. Europe has some catch up to do here. The hype of items such as Alexa or Siri has really opened people’s eyes as to how they can interact with IOT devices and this is just the beginning. Last year you saw a whole plethora of smart watches come to market and this is just the start. Expect there to be about 20 million smart watches sold in the year 2018.

This day in age, IOT business functions happen on site with their data centers or their data can be hosted in the cloud. Netxt year, we’ll start seeing firms move towards connected untapped compute supply in order to make this function. Over the last year, most major industrial IOT services have moved toward some sort of IOT adoption since the additional input of information help them make better decisions. One area where IOT could use some improvement is UI and product experience. IOT is still very much in its infancy stage. IN this next year we will see a lot of new IOT devices hit the market and some of the more exciting ones are the medical related ones since those will have a profound immediate impact on society. All of our bodies are different and being able to create custom tailored medical regimes, diet routines, or even exercise routines based on big data will have profound impacts. We can even look towards smart cities where cities can measure their energy consumption, waste output, and any other resource/variable that requires an increase in efficiency. This is exciting and we will see much innovation in the next 10 years
