RE: The State of Steem Podcast and thoughts on Content

in #dtubesnap5 years ago

Think there is a fundamental misunderstanding about flagging or policing content.

Nobody is saying people can't post what they want but everybody with stake certainly has a say whether it gets rewarded or not.

Some people think posting links or making #sharingcontent posts are adding value to Steem and some do not, for instance.

We shape the culture of the platform. We influence what we believe will make Steem attractive to investors. If that involves flagging people for lazy shitposts, so be it. They are not censored.

They can keep being lazy and sharing YT links but, if I can help it, my little flag is going to take those rewards and hopefully they end up going to higher quality user contributions.

I think the "no content policing" mentality is dangerous, @reseller. Personally, do not care for Steem becoming a content recycling bin.

Meh, you are talking to the guy who greets the same person using #introduceyourself tag 50x without ever noticing it.

He’ll never read these comments.
