If you are reading this, most likely you are:
- Being linked here from my comments/messages
- Someone who is interested to be involved
- Just curious
Either way, the end for 2019 is here and it's time for a rewind into the trends on DTube this year.
This video was inspired by the horrible YouTube Rewind 2018 last year, which received over 16 million downvotes compared to 2 million upvotes. I did thought of making such a video for DTube last year, but there are several reasons why I can only put together one this year:
- Majority of the videos posted last year were deleted off IPFS therefore not playable
- I was only here since April 2018, so I have no idea what was happening before that
- The AskSteem search API got shut down making it hard to search for videos
What is this?
For those who have no idea what this is all about, DTube Rewind is a compilation of viral trends on DTube throughout the year, just like YouTube Rewind, but for DTube instead.
Disclaimer: this is not an official DTube Rewind nor endorsed by the core dev team.
These are the things that will most likely be included:
- DTube 0.9 update + DTC token sale
- DTube Forum 2019
- SteemFest 4
- False flagging & flag wars
- SPUD 1 to 8
- Link777 + Seven77
- Utopian Indiegogo Campaign
- Palnet claim drop
- NewSteem vs OldSteem
If I miss out anything important that went viral on DTube this year, please let me know in the comments below.
How to get involved?
If you have received a message from me requesting if I can use one or more of your DTube videos that you have posted this year, just authorize and you're in.
If you did not get one of those messages but still want to get involved, let me know in the comments below, or message me on Discord
techcoderx#7481. Content creators on @tanbay's top 50 DTubers list for any months in 2019 will have a better chance on being in the Rewind this year to ensure only relevant DTubers are featured as one of the criticisms of the YouTube Rewind is that too many irrelevant content creators that very few people actually know are featured.
His last report can be found here. If you're not in his last report but made it to his previous reports (as long as it's in 2019) please mention that to me as well.
70% of the post rewards will be divided among those who did get featured in the Rewind, proportionate to the duration of the footage used. Beneficiaries will be set to the account in which the original videos were first posted (unless requested otherwise).
