I Can't Go To Australia - But I Can Have The Next Best Thing
After watching the Australia tourism ad that was shown during the NFL Super Bowl I decided I wanted to go to Australia. After looking into it I discovered that I couldn't. I was sad and reached out to @SlayerKM. He gave me some great advice which led me to the next best thing.
I hope all my new Australian friends get a laugh out of this video. It is all intended to be in good fun and more a joke at me.
I will go to Australia one day. Oh yes, I will.
Special shout outs to @SlayerKM for a spark of inspiration and confidence (and for consoling me when I was sad.) And also to all my new Aussie friends that I've met in the past few weeks. You are all the greatest.
Comment with a smile if you had a laugh.

Crocodile Dundee was a Latvian, woop woop! :) "25 hours is more than a day..." You are super funny, keep those coming! :)
Thank you so much. I looked that first bit up and was educated on Crocodile Harry. :)
LOL, your sad face! Hahahaha, I am still laughing!
And as far as the money part is concerned, you will definitely going to earn that much money from Steemit! I just commented on @bobaphet post telling him that I would love to visit Australia, my cousin lives there!
Let's set a target, save money and meet there together in December this year, whats say?
We have a bit of an anchor that keeps us here at the moment. Our cat TJ who is getting up there in years and we do not like to leave him alone for long periods of time. He has had to go to the Vet several times for heath reasons that seem to have came out of nowhere. That cat is our fur baby since we did not have any children. Travels are in my mind for the future. I can guarantee that when the time comes I will be reaching out to several friends to plan a good time for all of us.
It's interesting to see how we're portrayed over seas :)
I hate to be the bearer of bad news though mate, but...
no one in Australia drinks Fosters.
That's why we have to export it :)
There's always a couch for you here, if you make it to Melbourne.
Peace.
This was a bit of satire because I know that no one there likes the way Australia is portrayed in the US. I was just poking a bit for fun. That is why I pointed out that the beer was even made in the US. :) I am glad to hear that you would welcome me in my twin bro. And when I do make it there I will definitely plan on meeting up with the great bobaphet.
Obviously being Australian I can vouch for it being worth the flight :) let us know when you do plan to come down and I’m sure we can help you pull something together :)
Haha! Great video! Well done my friend. Resteemed.
Thank you so much. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. And a special thanks for the resteem.
I say just go for it. Yes. It is expensive and a long flight. However, it’s totally worth it. I was able to go on 2015 and I can stop think in about it.
Oh, I will my friend. I am hoping that I'll have many people there to welcome me and make it that much more the experience. I just need to wrap up some things here and talk my wife into. I'm glad you had the opportunity to visit that amazing country. Where all did you go? Thanks for watching my video.
Sydney and cairns. We traveled around. Each area for a week. Two weeks was just enough time to justify the 21+ hour flight.
I havent had much of chance to watch any of your videos yet @to7. So many new members amongst the ddaily family but I am glad this was the first one that I watched! Was great! I hope you do one day make it to Australia, you'll need to drink a real aussie beer like a shitty XXXX goldie or a VB! Both terribly iconic haha.
I'm glad you liked the video. If there was any motivation to travel the world for me then it would be to drink beer.
That's a pretty great reason in my eyes!
My trip back from New Zealand was 43 hours... It was morning twice, night twice, changed planes in Malaysia, Korea, and California, I still landed in Utah on the same day I left. Riddle me that.
So time travel is real. :) thanks for checking out the video and commenting. The big questions are, how was your trip and how bad was the jet lag?
It was great! I was in Australia for 5 weeks and New Zealand for 4. I met a lot of cool people and had some crazy adventures. The jet lag was bad when I got there. I was supposed to be staying with my dad's friend, and I was told he was picking me up from the airport. I get off the plane and I see this beautiful girl standing in the arrivals. then I realize shes holding a sign with my name on it. It was the guy's stepdaughter. I started shaking and said hello. She was super friendly and takes me to her car. Ofcourse I went to the driver's side because everything is backwards there. Smooth. She took me to get a "frozen coke" (their "Slurpee") then we were hanging out a while, having a great time. We were sitting in her bed talking for a few hours and watching weird Australian t.v. and next thing I know... she's waking me up to get me out of her room so she could go to sleep. I passed out. I fell asleep in her bed at like 8 at night, she says she kept trying to wake me up by plugging my nose but I wouldn't wake up, so she stopped for fear of murdering me. She says I was snoring all loud and everything. Then at like one in the morning finally woke me up to kick me out. Jet lag sucks.
Oh man that sounds like it was some embarrassing things at the time but a great story now. :)
It haunts me to this day. But I'm glad you liked it :)
Everyday we live a movie. Some day's it's an action flick and some day's it's a drama. Seems like that day for you was a comedy. I see that story like scenes from a movie in my head. You described it well.
It felt like a tragedy... haha! Thanks!
I can't believe I waited so long to watch this!! Pure gold man! You had me cracking up. It was so sad to see how disappointed you were when you realized you didn't have the time or money to go. Thank god for Slayer's suggestion :D haha loved the comparison of the two beer sizes as well! Keep the laughs coming MATE!!!
