Haha I feel your pain here. I remember the first time I recorded with my wife next to me, it was the weirdest thing!
But it’s definitely worth it to give it a try with someone else there. Not only does it boost your confidence in what you do but it also validates it in their eyes. And when the people around you can believe in what you doing by seeing it first hand, they’ll encourage you as well.
