I hope you get a chance to, it's a pretty amazing place!
Kunming is quite under-rated by Chinese standards, its famous internationally though.
The knife attacks in the train station a few years ago, freaked me out a bit, its totally safe now, guards are everywhere.
The weather is some of the best China has to offer, and the Yunnan countryside speaks for itself.
I hope to do more exploring in that part of China again.
