Why Keeping Cannabis Illegal is Selfish
In this vlog I wanted to discuss why I believe it is selfish to continue prohibition or to accept the status quo when it comes to cannabis - it is not enough to just be apathetic about the law change because you haven't personally fallen victim to prohibition.
We need to fight for cannabis legalisation in the UK by challenging prohibition and any attitudes that argue to maintain the current state of affairs.
What do you think?

It should be legal globally!
I couldn't agree more! I hope we can see that in our lifetimes, but there are parts of the world that seem a very long way off. #LegaliseWorldwide!
I agree. I think it's easy for people who are not interested in consuming cannabis personally to just ignore the reality of what prohibition can do to ruin the lives of good people. They can rest easy knowing that the alcohol they probably drink won't send them to prison unless they drive after consuming it, though it may end up taking their life one day if they overdo it. Maybe they consume tobacco, which is actually likely to take their life someday if they continue use, but at least they don't have to worry about being locked in a cage for it. Cannabis, meanwhile, hurts no one and helps millions of people all over the world. Its prohibition and the punishment that has been handed out because of it is one of the greatest and most senseless injustices in modern times in my opinion... not that comparing scars is ever useful.
Completely agree mate - the legal drugs (alcohol, tobacco etc) are free to consume and enjoy, while prohibition damages the lives of vulnerable people just for choosing a different high. Going one step further, the legalisation or decriminalisation of all drugs would save lives, lower addiction rates and overdoses and be better for society. I hope one day we can adopt a sensible approach that stops criminalising consumers. I see cannabis as a separate argument because of its relative safety, but as humans we should be able to enjoy and do what we want with our own bodies so long as we're not hurting others.
I want to agree i really do, but, they will not legalise it, especially while traitor may is in number 10. They know what will come of legalisation, 70% of tokers will all grow their own legally. The other 30% and new comers will use guberment sponsored outlets for variety and pay some tax, but then they will turn to growing their own and eventually everybody would be growing their own, and they would not make a single penny out of it. As it stands they make money from prohibition, they need to stop making money from prohibition before anything will go our way.
How do we stop them profitting from prohibition, Stop getting caught, Stop claiming to represent a legal fiction if you are accosted by so called authority figures, and don't carry any more than you need to be carrying just in case. We keep feeding them because most stoners are lazy and complacent ;)
I remain optimistic about legalisation - it's a when not an if imo :) After all, we now have so many case studies of how good it can be economically. I'm going to do another vlog soon about how the NHS is on it's knees and how we should legalise cannabis and use the money generated to help solve this crisis. It's worth discussing ideas like this, even if they seem unlikely to act on them. The police numbers are also being cut, so why not take cannabis out of the criminal system and free them up to focus on real crimes?
I think (hope!) quite a few people would grow their own in a legal system, but there will be a big enough market of people who don't want to to make it worthwhile and then some.
Please be careful railing on the NHS mate, they are trying to privatise it by manipulating our beliefs, a few cuts here and there = waiting times increase and staff are over worked. Making it look like we need to throw more money at it, when we already throw more than enough, well we would if the parasites were not lining their own pockets with our revenue, guberment only exist to get things done with a 1% efficiency, its guberment that we need rid of, no more prohibition or taxes, sounds like a paradise to me :)
big trick by big pharma!x
How can a plant be illegal? :(
100% agree, it has been illegal in too many places for too long. Here in Canada we are lucky to have legalization taking place nationwide in July of this year. In fact, a large 180,000 square foot greenhouse is being built near me and it is intended for the cultivation of recreational cannabis. Needless to say, I will be applying for a job ;)
