Can a world running on STEEM and crypto pave the way for a green future? (Daily Vlog #28)
Here's a topic I've wanted to get involved in for quite some time.
I have wondered about green energy and the future possibility of a sustainable and clean world, especially since becoming a father myself. I find myself wanting to know more and push for a better world for my daughter to grow into.
That brings me to crypto, last night at work I was printing some packaging film for real world cash, and it made me think, is physical money actually necessary, in a world trying to become green, would physical money ever fall to a reliable and stable crypto system?
Of course crytpos right now are still volatile and not stable enough for exclusive global use as a mainstream currency, but they could be. The more the world can accept the benefits of them and push to fuel a greener and safer planet, the closer we will come to a brighter Earth future for our children.
I'd love to know your thoughts on this subject, it's something I'm really invested in learning about. Wether you agree or not, leave your ideas below. This topic in inspiring a new project of mine to find out more about green energy and what can be done to encourage it.

Interesting point which I haven’t actually thought about when talking about crypto. In general you can already minimize using cash with fiat money with all the technologies we have. The only reason why I’m not doing this is because you’re being tracked and your buying behaviors are being monitored all the time. That’s why I’m using cash as much as I can. For me this is still one of the most anonymous possibilities of spending my money.
That’s acrually a really good point you’ve made here. I didn’t think about it like that!
I agree with the trouble of never being anonymous with spending, after all, it’s your money so only you should be able to control how you spend it.
They don’t even print physical money anymore!
Printing is still a VERY large part of the physical money industry
With more and more of the fiat currency being electronic already, there is no reason crypto won't become the goto option as well. Card companies like VISA are already seeing the opportunity. Have a look at the SHIFT card where you can load litecoin onto a shift and spend at any location that takes Visa. It's coming.

I like where your thinking is at on this issue. I have had similar thoughts, imagining a "Cryptopia" in which fiat currencies are rendered futile and completely replaced by digital currencies. No doubt this would be a step in the right direction for conservation.
Another interesting intersection between blockchain technologies and green technologies is the possibility of rendering utility companies completely obsolete; if I am able to independently create electricity using solar panels, and I can sell the excess to my neighbors at a cheaper price than utilities (and on a trusted blockchain network) we can begin to imagine removing our dependence on fossil fuels that are traditionally burned to create electricity, and further our environmental impact (I work in the solar industry, so this is something that I think about often).
Many potential uses/impacts no doubt. It makes me happy knowing that people in our genereation are actually concerned with HOW we are leaving the planet behind for future generations! keep vlogging!
