RE: Thoughts of the up coming hardfork on Steem

in #dtube5 years ago

I am absolutely on the side of this change because that will underline the importance of curation instead of the "just post and leave" mindset.

  • It will attract more investors because of a higher ROI -> more investors = higher demand for steem = higher price.

  • it will motivate people to vote more with higher percentage instead of just following some trails with 1%.

  • It can be a big big big change for all of us, if we change our way to see steem as a only content creator blockhain. The main feature of steem is the curation of content and with 25% of the rewardpool this is super undervalued.

  • Of course the change will also push creators to bring more high quality content or even work on their content quality. We all see that people are making the same stuff over and over again. Dont get me wrong @intrepidsurfer ;) The message / content is also a part of quality and even if you are often "just" making those talking head videos your content is varying and you are talking about important and current stuff.

Side note to @zanoni and you:
The small content creators wouldn't lose anything if they finally understand how important curation of others content is. We have 90% of "post and leave" people here milking the system without giving something back or keeping their steem in the system for curation.

That hardfork can change everything into a positive way. Thats my opinion.

Peace!

I totally agree with change, but the thought process and implementation without a test net first is worrying. I see it as the rules of the game will change and I will adapt accordingly. But to think this will incentive good content is not 100% certain.

Plus why is this all happening just before SMT's. Once those are out, each DApp will decide how they distribute their native token. Then this Steem issue is only tied to Steemit. People will invest to participate in the DApp ecosystem on the Steem blockcahin. With HF21- it just makes it easier for those with big SP accounts to work through curation to amass even more SP. Now they don't have to post, they just figure out the best time and vote placement for someone they follow. Bot votes it and voila. I have made way % return on my upvote than before.

Thats how I would play it.

I also see Steem far more than Steemit and making blogs/vlogs.
