improving video quality: External Audio Source on Android / my Zoom H1 (external mic) is now working with my android smartphone.. finally

In this video I share a trick to connect your external microphone (e.g. Zoom H1/ Apogee / Yeti etc) with your android phone.

I had some errors with the common way and found a trick to get it to work here: https://sourceforge.net/p/opencamera/discussion/general/thread/dabe8a64/

You need:

  • Open Camera App (for selecting an external mic as audio input)
  • OTG Adapter and USB Cable for your kind of usb (in my case Micro-USB for my phone and USB-B for the mic)

Steps:

  • Start Open Camera
  • Choose the option "external mic" in the Settings

  • start a new recording
  • Connect your USB-Device via OTG Cable
  • Do your video with nicer sound yeah yeah yeah
  • Disconnect the USB-Device
  • Stop the Video
