When you think about the best golf in America, you normally think of the best golf destinations like Florida, California, Carolina. But how about Colorado? Check out the best par fives here in our state.
Join J T head golf professional of Pool Creek Golf Course and Tom Bianca of Colorado's voyage as we play the ninth golf hole at the red side. Our best go for it par 5's. It plays five hundred fifty six yards from the back and four hundred thirteen yards from the forward. Tees you can grip it and rip it from this elevated tee box with no major hazards. If you take a solid drive on the tree lined fairway, however, your approach shot must be accurate.
Trouble protects the left side of the green with deep sand and grass. Mounds are in play. If you hit it long, best to aim right at the green and just landed short to let the ball run on. It's a fun design and an excellent way to finish your nine holes on the ridge side.
Welcome to the ninth hole at the Dunes in Brighton, Colorado. Our top choice for the best. Go for it par 5's in this state. The whole plays five hundred nineteen yards from the back tees and three hundred seventy seven yards from the forward. He's a great risk and reward opportunity as there is little trouble off the tee. Your approach shot funnels downward to the green and requires a more accurate shot as mounds surround the left, right and backside of the green.
This week on Colorado's Best Golf, we feature the first hole at the Sonnenalp, an old golf club in Edwards, Colorado. Join Jim Miller and Tim Bianca as they play the starting hall. This par five plays six hundred eleven yards from the back tees and four hundred forty six yards from the forward tees and is one of the toughest par fives in this day. Not much trouble off the tee, but favorite the right side of the fairway as it will give you a great angle for your approach shot. But be careful as there's a pond on the left. The most challenging part of the hole is your short game, as it has a well protected green.
Red Hawk Ridge in Castle Rock features our best go for it par 5's, it plays five hundred thirty three yards from the back with no major hazards waiting, if you take a solid drive from this elevated tee box, however, your approach shot must be accurate if you're willing to go for it. Trouble protects all sides, including sand traps on both left and right side of the green grass mounds are in play. If you hit it long and if short upon will catch your ball. If you aim straight at the water, you have an excellent opportunity to reach the green in two, but you must fly your shot over the water and sand the entire way to get there. It's a fun design and an excellent way to finish your 18 holes.
Kennedy Golf in Denver has the best go for it par 5 on the West course, it plays five hundred twelve yards from the back tees and 436 yards from the forward in order to make the green in two. You must hit the drive of your life over the trees and landed perfectly on the fairway. If you did that, it was a phenomenal shot. Now the approach shots should leave you around one hundred ninety yards to the green. It does have protection on the front with sand traps, but there is opening in between to landed on the green. Our favorite par 5's and a must play.
