Crashing a Wedding
At dinner, we found out that a friend's wife's brother was having his wedding reception in the same building. Total happenstance. Instead of barging in uninvited, Dave sent a message in via a groomsman he met in the bathroom. Zack and Sarah ran out into the snowy parking lot just before we were about to leave and invited us in. So we ended up "crashing" a wedding in plainsclothes. Wasn't too exciting, because instead of taking advantage of the open bar and dancing the night away we just stood off to the side and talked.
Crashing a Ski Slope
While everyone else was still busy with karaoke, Nash and I took some sleds out onto the ski slopes. The moon was bright and it wasn't that cold, so I had a great time walking up the runs and flying down them. That is, until a ski patrol snowmobile on his way up the mountain stopped to inform us we couldn't be on private property. We probably could have been rebels and kept on sledding behind his back, but we didn't want to be disrespectful so we walked downhill with lowered heads. Had to continue the fun with penguin and jellyfish style sledding on the almost flat road.
Lesson of the day: I'm no good at breaking the rules.
Anyway, New Years celebration is about to get underway so I gotta post and run again. See you next year!
