Thanks for this video! Otherwise I would've thought Dtube was just another one of those porn tubes lol. Love ya bro! XD

Great video, I agree with most of what you say, can't say about the technical stuff since I'm not experienced in it. I've spent some time looking at DTube and here are my thoughts as an user that is searching for an alternative to Youtube. Just to keep in mind, I haven't yet tried uploading anything.

The home page looks bad. The three first sections are good but I don't see the need to have the "Watch Again" section on the home page. It should probably be put in its own history page like Youtube does. When I make the window half the size of my screen, I want to be able to see all three sections without having to scroll down. Right now, it's wrapping the videos which leaves me with a big white part on the right. Again, a system of arrows to click to navigate a horizontal list like on Youtube would be better.

The video page looks good, I just hope they will manage to make a good looking video player. A views counter would be great, I don't really care about the money the video made when I'm searching through a video website. Sure it should be put somewhere, but not as big as it is right now. I have nothing to say about the comments, they look pretty good. I like your idea for the tags, seems like you want them to implement some kind of Steam-like tags with the most voted tags being shown. Of course, they should keep the primary tag as "dtube" but adding "dtube-" before every other tag is a suicidal move in my opinion as if the author doesn't change the tags, his video won't get shown on "gaming" for example, which is less publicity for DTube.

The search bar seemed good until I saw the way I should search for tags. I suggest searching for a word and then filtering the results by putting in a tag instead of having to type "tags:NameOfTheTag", the average user doesn't want to use a website that searches like that, it wants something easy to use. Can't say anything about the upload page, it is perfect in my opinion and very good looking. The channel page is a mess right now but I don't think they spent too much time on it yet. Each channel should have at least filtering options for : newest, oldest, views, payout, reblogged/resteemed (whatever you want to call it). It would also be good to see a way to do playlists also that would appear on a channel sub-page to organize your series in a Youtube way.

Right now, I hate how it looks on Steemit. Embedding the videos would already be an improvement but the formatting doesn't look that good for the rest either. I'm sure it will be a great website though and it can only be better looking over time (if they don't do the suicide updates like Youtube does every time).

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, great ideas. I agree with you, there is an issue of rewarding the right behaviour on Steemit and also there is a need to sort and highlight good content

I love your post, thanks for sharing! I gave you a vote. I hope you enjoy it.
