Blockchain for Elections and Voting - Dr. John Patrick Reveals Options

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

Blockchain can help solve two major problems with voting: 1) eliminating fraud, and 2) encouraging participation by legal voters. In this interview I talk with John Patrick, author of Election Attitude. We explore the problems in the current US voting and election situation.

What do you think? Please leave a comment below. I look forward to hearing from you!

Have you looked into https://vote.democracy.earth/ and if so do you have any thoughts?

85 million? There are only 323.1 million people living in the United States. That's a huge chunk of people that couldn't vote.
Couldn't get to the polls covers a lot of reasons. They are shut-ins, they couldn't get time off from work, they are convicted felons living in prison, they are living overseas, they are soldiers on active duty, etc.
How many people are over 80, and don't know a thing about computers?
Blockchain voting? This would be so neat. The dead couldn't vote, illegals couldn't vote, politicians couldn't interfere. People couldn't cheat. You'd have to have sign on credentials.

I love this! Would be so cool to test this up here in Canada at the municipal level (even for our own neighbourhoods/communities?) and then eventually province-wide, then the whole country. So many possibilities!

Bottom line is you can't really get any more transparent and efficient than using blockchain methods.

Thanks for having John on the show, I can't wait to here some updates from him, yourself and others on this in the future.
