RE: Video phobia - my first dtube attempt

in #dtube6 years ago (edited)

nah i understand that, it's just a time served thing in front of the camera trust me on that. i understand that there are a lot of factors that trigger 'the fear'. .. so a few pointers that might help or have helped me over the years.

1.) data doubles in size every 72 hrs so don't be too precious that people are gonna be REVIEWING in absolutely detail what you say.

2.) look into the lense but look PAST it, just imagine it's one of your favorite people or places (happy place) and instead talk past the device.

3.) do the script (if you have one) in parts, do it a few times and then let it flow, try freestyling bits of it, don't go for perfection go for what feels authentic, problems and issues and all, what makes us unique is our FLOW not some SEO proofed piece.

4.) you are trying to be everything to everyone without knowing the audience, think of it as a video you would leave if an alien race came to the planet and found the journal of the last human being on planet earth, think of everyone else being dead and this is your medium to stop you going crazy as the last living human.

i think that's a good start for now. .. happy to video chat to help and assist if you wanna go deeper on it and i can help!

sending you video karma.. . . oh and your have a lovely face (hair) for camera, your so full of positivity energy and information (i saw your steemfest3 presentation) that once it flows, it flows.. .

@teamhumble your comment is going to help me out big time when I start shooting my videos

Warm regards

Wow these are some amazing advices!
Thank you very much for sharing them!

once it flows, it flows.

So true...

Thank you for your awesome advice! I guess it is about time served. I think I used to be better at it. I've even done some TV as a journalist like a decade ago. I plan to keep trying. It's not hard, especially since I don't edit on purpose. Uploading raw to face my fears (and cause I am lazy).

keep it coming, if you want me to give you feedback on any of the video you do, raw or otherwise or bloopers just @ me and i'll provide you with some feedback either public or privately. cheers! keep on making! :) -- it's absolutely time served yes, the confidence comes from being relaxed about knowing internally that 'you've got this' -- scripts can be hard if your outta practice for sure but with youtube and other sites you can literally find your audience and voice.

i watched a dude playing the accordian on twitch yesterday, he raised half of his rent playing it. .. i look forward to seeing more of your content!

peace and love.

I've been told that being a female gamer with pink hair off twitch is literally burning money. If I manage to get over this video-phobia, I might just be one of those late vlog bloomers.

absolutely. you would kill the game.
