This is probably the best spark plug cleaning method. I was running the 1978 El Camino on a lot of short trips and since this is a carbureted engine, prior to computer engine management, the spark plugs started to get fouled. So I removed the spark plugs and put them in the ultrasonic cleaner with "Awesome' detergent and some vinegar and ran a couple cycles in the ultrasonic cleaner with the water heater on. The result was that the spark plugs came out almost as clean as new. The reason this is a great method to clean spark plugs is because it safely cleans deep down the white porcelain insulator near the bottom, typically where the spark plugs short out.
