As you can see: When you live on an island, everything is different. While the classic Christmas celebs get their winter dresses ready, decorate trees, stoke chimneys and drink (too much) Glühwein and Jagertee, island people live a quite different scenario.
We put our flip flops on, decorate surfboards, stoke campfires at the beach and drink (too much) Mojito. That's not too bad either, huh? :-)
Like always in life there is no right or wrong. There's just the way you wanna do it.

Thanks for the invitation, that's sweet! Currently I'm super busy in real life (working), so I can't escape. But I've already booked my two next trips: Switzerland in March (for wintersports) and Bali in June (for watersports). Actually I'm looking forward to both, but a bit more to the first one since I badly miss the cold and snow :-) I haven't been to the mountains for 3 years now.

Christmas is a feeling! Well said. The toys are well hidden in the garage awaiting there time to be placed under and around the tree for that early morning surprise from ole' St. Nick! The feeling is in the air as my kids and I sip hot chocolate and talk of the coming days! Yes, it is a feeling and memories are made............ I've just seen your snowboard video, very cool! I'll travel to Switzerland in March for skiing. Can't wait to go there actually. It's been a couple of years that I haven't seen the snow, and I really miss wintersports.
Nice video and I understand that it is cold enough there to need a wet suit. This may be a silly question but, don't your hands and feet just freeze?

Haha, you're spot on! Especially the feet start to freeze very quickly since they're always in the water when you sit on your board and wait for the next wave. The other day my toes felt completely numb after the session. A hot shower brought them back to life then - haha! :-)

Nice waves. The warm up phase you do, where you practice on sand - how long do you do it before going in the water?
Also, are you planning on going 360 maybe? would be awesome content :)
The warm up phase depends on the conditions. Now that the outside temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius I stretch a bit longer than in summer, since the muscles are usually cold when arriving at the beach. I don't count time but I guess that it's around 3-5 minutes.
I just bought a drone, so in a couple of weeks you'll definitely see some nice wide angles from my volcanic island :-)
