Very interesting.
- This would be great between parties who know and have some trust with each other.
- If things are shipped sealed to someone, it'd be a risk to not confirm what's in the package to make sure it's not something illegal or improper to travel with/import. We don't want anyone getting screwed or detained as impromptu drug dealers here.
- This requires a lot of faith that people would be honest and not steal. I know I would never, but there are lots of people out there! Handling something like Mene gold would be too risky, unless it's a verified traveler/shipper.
- To the above, there would need to be some type of serious validation process to confirm things were delivered to the end target. Shipment tracking could confirm the receipt of the item to bring somewhere, but not exactly at the delivery point, unless people will reship the item when they get to another place.
- Would there be a collateral system?
It's a great concept. I appreciate your forward thinking. It could work to a certain degree as long as people were honest with it and there were good use cases to build confidence.

I think the consensus wold be that reputation would not be a good metric. So many people have inflated their rep with bots and self-voting, ironically, not the type of person I'd want to do business with in the form of trusting for my shipments.
