STEEMIT HELPING HANDS has teamed up with GREENLAND RECYCLERS and LAWMA(Lagos state waste management authority) In a bid to bring about environmental sustainability and to sensitize primary and secondary schools students, to teach them the basic importance of recycling and waste management which would increase the knowledge bank of the students as well offer them a career path in future.

Greenland Recyclers is a recycling and a waste management company operational in Lagos Nigeria. Their core values are, to bring about environmental sustainability by ensuring that people get involved in recycling effectively, as well help people understand the importance of recycling in the eco-system. Greenland Recyclers is licenced by the Lagos Waste Management authority(LAWMA) under Ministry of environment in Nigeria.

However, some of the basic Aim of this project is to :

1. Instill waste management and Recycling values in the boy/girl child,

2. To achieve the Sustainable Development GOAL number six, which states "clean Water and Sanitation " formed by the United Nations (UN). If every child can learn about the effects of recycling and waste management, they'll definitely pass it on to the next generation progressively.
   
   Furthermore, Six High schools alongside two Basic education schools were selected for the Recycling/Waste management Sensitization exercise however, @steemhelpinghand joined its partners Greenland Recyclers and Lawma in moving round to stipulated schools, sensitising them on the importance and effects of Recycling/Waste management on the environment.
   They were taught how their environment can sustained through effective recycling and waste management.
   
   After the sensitization. The Six High schools will be engaged in a recycling Competition (Paper recycling competition). Hence, the primary aim and Objective of this exercise is to activate and propel the attitude of Recycling/waste management in them, to get them actively involved in recycling in a bid to

3. Bring about environmental sustainability.

4. Reduce environmental pollution

5. Improve the economy, by creating more employment opportunity.

6. To empower life through the Waste to wealth initiative.
   
   The inter-class Paper Recycling competition will last for about four weeks, where various classes in the selected schools will display acts of Recycling and Waste management by

7. Gathering paper wastes form their homes and schools,
   2.These paper wastes like old calendars, old magazines, old news papers, old text books, old bills and records, will be dropped in the sacks in their classes provided by Greenland Recyclers
   
   After which at the end of the Recycling competition our partner Greenland Recyclers will go round each schools, weigh the sacks of paper wastes and the class which recycles the highest paper waste within the given period wins and will be awarded as such :

• Cartons of Noodles
• Packs of Tissue papers
• A free excursion to a recycling company, so the students can get to see how wastes are recycled into new useful materials.
