Fake news; the facial biometrics don't leave the secure coprocessor, same as fingerprint before it.
Turns out, though, you've been sharing those publicly already even before the release of the iPhone X: they're called selfies.
Yeah, that's a good point. If you take selfies, that data is already stored on your phone - and if you haven't adjusted your phone settings properly, that data gets sent to Apple, Inc. on a regular basis.
