1990 music Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee) (Original Video with subtitles) (1)

Eiffel 65 is an Italian musical group consisting of Jeffrey Jey, Maurizio Lobina and Gabry Ponte. They are known mainly for their high-charting singles, "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" and "Move Your Body", and their 1999 studio album Europop. Their next two albums, Contact! (2001) and their 2003 self-titled album, did not have much international success but still managed to chart in Italy.

Randone, Ponte and Lobina met each other at Bliss Corporation, which was founded in 1992 by Massimo Gabutti. A computer chose the name Eiffel randomly from a group of words the three liked. The number 65 was added mistakenly to an early pressing of their first single, Blue (Da Ba Dee). Jeffrey Jey explained:

We have this little program on the computer that helps us choose the name, and that's how 'Eiffel' came out, but the '65' issue is really strange, because no one actually chose the 65 number. We went to the producer, 'What happened?' So he started looking for an answer, and what happened was, he was writing a phone number on a piece of paper, and two digits of the phone number ended up on the label copy. That's the piece of paper the graphic artist gets to make the sleeve and all the information on the record. He thought we put that on afterward, and he just fused it together with the name. So it became a lucky charm for us."
It was released on 15 January 1999 as the lead single from their debut album Europop. The song is the group's most popular single, reaching number one in many countries such as Ireland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Australia, and Germany, as well as reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. In the United Kingdom, the song originally entered the top 40 purely on import sales. It was only the third single to do this. The song also received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Dance Recording at the 2001 Grammy Awards.

The music video for the song was released in 1999 by the BlissCoMedia, a computer graphics company of the Bliss Corporation, known at the time the video was produced and released as "BlissMultiMedia". The video featured computer graphics created with 3ds Max, and has Eiffel 65 members Maurizio Lobina and Gabry Ponte trying to save Jeffrey Jey from the aliens Zorotl and Sayok6.
