Aceh is a tribe that has a long history in the past. The term Acehnese is aimed at the indigenous people of Aceh who are in the Nangroe Aceh Darussalam region, a province located at the far end of the northern Sumatra Island.
Aceh also has a type of traditional clothing worn on certain occasions. Aceh traditional clothes are divided into 2 types, namely men's traditional clothing and women's traditional clothing. Each of these traditional clothes has different names and characteristics. These traditional clothes are worn on certain occasions, such as weddings, traditional ceremonies, etc.
For men's clothing, they wore a blend of clothing between Meukasah clothes and Cekak Musang pants. Meukasah clothes are black clothes complete with golden yellow trinkets. While Cekak Musang is a loose and long type of pants that is very close to Malay values and Islam.
As for women's clothing, they also wore a blend of clothing, namely Long Sleeve Kurung clothes with trousers, Snacks Weasel. Characteristics of loose and closed long sleeve brackets. Just like Cekak Musang pants, Long Sleeve Kurung clothes are also very closely related to Malay values and Islam. This shirt is usually combined with a headscarf or veil.
Aceh is also rich in traditional dances. One of the most famous traditional dances is Seudati Dance. This dance takes the form of energetic, distinctive and straightforward movements that rely on hand and foot movements. The hands and feet are carried out very agile and fast, resulting in rhythmic and harmonious movements.
Besides Seudati Dance, there is also a famous dance, namely Saman Dance. This dance is performed with a pat on the hand, chest, with no musical instruments. However, even though without a musical instrument, this dance is still lively because of the dancers' movements which are lively, so it is interesting and beautiful to look at. Besides Saman Dance, there are other dances such as Aceh Laweut Dance, Tarek Pukat Dance, Didong Dance, Ratok Duek Aceh Dance, and other dances.
