The Opiate "Crisis"

The government is ruining the lives of people who depend on pain management to survive. They even go so far as to call opiates "ineffective"! We have responsible people being punished for the actions of the vast minority, much like gun control legislation.. Granted, overdoses are down substantially, but that also is the result of more states legalizing medical cannabis; also, with opiates being harder to have prescribed, there are less out on the black market. All of this comes at a massive cost to the responsible individuals who have depended on pain medication to be able to perform the essential functions of life.
