Should we be more critical of Dtube?
So I've been seeing more and more people on Youtube and other social media (as well as here on steemit) rushing to let everybody know how awesome Dtube is and how everybody should make the switch.
Let me be blunt here. If you tell other Youtubers that they should switch to Dtube right now. You are hurting them rather than helping them. Of course there are exceptions to the rule but I see a lot of initial excitement from Youtubers who join and then suddenly their channel is dead on Dtube.
1-Dtube isn't very good at uploading.
Videos that get uploaded to Dtube are very few since most of the time the upload crashes or the video is corrupted somehow. This is unacceptable.
2- People recommending Dtube don't tend to mention steemit and how to make an account.
We are all well versed or interested in crypto here but Youtubers come from modern sites with easy setup. It's important to mention steemit as a starting point.
3- The average user won't understand how to redeem the steem they earn.
It's not too hard but the average Youtuber isn't going to know how to convert steem to fiat without a guide. Instructions on the Dtube site (not just steemit) should make this more clear.
Not to mention the SUPER SLOW upload speed.
I understand that we will not have Youtube's backend for a long time (Maybe Ever) but we can do better.
Been thinking about this for a long time. What do you guys think?
