The ex's Lady Lawyer was not so enamored. In one exchange while being cross-examined:

Me: "Take you and I, for example. We share a talent but employ it divergently as a means to ends."

Lady Lawyer: "Oh ... and what talent might that be?"

Me: "We're both wordsmiths."

Lady Lawyer: "And what are the divergent ends to which you allude?"

Me: "You use your words to conceal truths. I use mine to reveal them."

Let me assure you ... my "erudite elocution" is not universally appreciated. Throughout the course of the proceedings, she developed a noticeable facial tick. :-)
