I tried to tell myself that the elongated forehead, fangs and copious drooling wouldn't matter. I did. Since the divorce, I have implemented a New Rule: Only date from within your own Star System. I know, I know ... it's not very "progressive." Tough shit. I got tired of her eating the pets. :-)

    The ex's Lady Lawyer was not so enamored. In one exchange while being cross-examined:

    Me: "Take you and I, for example. We share a talent but employ it divergently as a means to ends."

    Lady Lawyer: "Oh ... and what talent might that be?"

    Me: "We're both wordsmiths."

    Lady Lawyer: "And what are the divergent ends to which you allude?"

    Me: "You use your words to conceal truths. I use mine to reveal them."

    Let me assure you ... my "erudite elocution" is not universally appreciated. Throughout the course of the proceedings, she developed a noticeable facial tick. :-)
