CENSORSHIP Wins This Round As YouTube Now Deems Conspiracy Videos “BORDERLINE CONTENT”

in #dtube5 years ago

YouTube, the world’s largest video sharing platform announced on their blog this morning that they would begin tweaking the algorithm that recommends videos in an effort to stop “borderline content” from being seen by the masses. Major tech companies like YouTube owned by Google area pointing themselves as the gatekeepers of political thought and opinion and they are using the guise of “removing conspiracy theories” as a ruse to white out the MSM’s competition…the alternative media! In this video Dan Dicks of Press For Truth examines the current state of censorship and how these major tech companies are the ones who decide what is “true” and what isn’t.

I'd like to see Steem replace google one day. It's a little rough right now, but it could happen!

Yes! I feel like that's what's supposed to be happening right now. I hope the opportunity isn't being squandered!

  1. Google is censoring people for "hate speech" that doesn't even exist and promoting political correct lies.
  2. Google safes us from lies.

PARADOX

The financial system of the big tech is bleeding faster than ever. Innovative free speech platforms such as steemit will flourish as dapps such as steemit will replaced archaic centralised versions of industries such as social media, games betting etc.

I feel like platforms like Steemit, Dtube and the others are not the solution to censorship as advertised.

Sure, steemit wont restrict or shadowban your content, but say you made a video calling out the DNC or CNN or whatever- what's to stop them from creating a whale account on Steemit and downvote crushing your account into obscurity.

All it would take is a partnership from the major MSM or tech companies where they all pool together a bunch of money which and load it onto a single account, and then they can suppress you just as effectively on steemit as on youtube.

Am I wrong ?

Also, remember that Steemit DOES censor, restrict, and shadowban people and content. They do it less than the mainstream sites, but they do it all the time. It's just more subtle. For example, there's a reason you've never seen certain off-limits xxxx content here. And why you can only see people like @thedarkoverlord through Busy and other frontends.
So, Steemit probably isn't going to be the solution to mainstream censorship. They aren't right now, and they're moving away from that direction all the time.

bad move from yt, but jokes on u - u believe in conspiracies

FUCK CENSURE! :D

Silencing is coming and social crediting. I've just done a post on social crediting and it's coming very soon. People need to ditch Youtube and start promoting platforms that encourage free speech! 💯🐒

Interesting that they made an announcement... I would have thought they'd just do it and not say anything. Isn't that the usual approach?
