Date Night With Digital Performer with @playitforward - Making A Track With A Template
Date Night With Digital Performer with @playitforward - Making A Track With A Template
This is a project that I've been wanting to do for a while and think that this is a good first video to be showing a little bit of the music process in real-time. So I hope everyone enjoys!
This is me!
Template
Common practice for music composition is by creating and using your own templates. For this post, I actually created a template to make this track specifically.I usually use a template based on the type of music. I'm going to be doing. For example for film scoring, I probably spent three weeks making the template that I used today. Those type of things always require an update as you are updating your plug-in in software. With that being said, several hours per project are saved by using my template. In a future tutorial series I will break it down!
It saves a lot of time to be able to use a template, and because of this, I was able to make this video short enough for somebody with a reasonable patience level to watch.
Picking the Sounds
For this specific template I wanted to make a point to pick instruments that I thought would work well enough together to create a track. With composing it's almost like cooking where you want to combine ingredients to try and make the end product taste really good.
