D-Tube Wednesday: large iguana feeding on hibiscus leaves

Welcome to my D-Tube Wednesday series where I share my videos taken at interesting places that I have visited during my travels.
Today, I will take you to the renowned Mayan Riviera in Mexico, a place known for many things, including an abundant population of super laid back iguanas :)
Last week, I showed you some of the photos that I took during my last "iguana photo shooting" here in Playa del Carmen and I promised to share a video with you too so here it is.
The leading role of this little "dinosaur movie" was brilliantly played by a huge male of the black spiny tailed iguana (Ctenosaura Similis) who really enjoyed some fresh hibiscus leaves that I had picked for him.
The males of this species can reach up to 1.3 m (over 50 in) in length and I think this dude was pretty close to that size. Despite their frightening look, however, these guys are completely harmless. They are herbivores and they usually don´t care about humans at all - as long as you don´t really bother them.

Nemůžu si pomoct, tento typ zvířat mě fakt baví :)) Já měla doma dva gekony, to byli mazlíčci no. Jeden se jmenoval Steve a druhý Wonder :))

That is one big iguana. They still scare me a little even though I know they dont care about us. Lol
Haha I remember you wrote that to some of my previous iguana posts :) They do look scary sometimes but they really pose no danger to us ;)
