As inequality raise in an exponential rate, new technologies, robots, automation, AI which are tools that should bring benefits to humanity are now used to drive inequality to a new level where it becomes a real issues for the future generation.

Normally automation should allow us to benefit more free time to do our passion and more interesting jobs.
It should not be used to put humain in a never ending competition between humain and technologies ceated by their society.

Automation, technologies and AI wouldn't exist without our societies investments in education, science and industry. In my opinion, fruits of our evolution should be redistributed at least partially to the whole society in the form of a universal basic income to insure minimal dignity without a governement to decide how to redristibute the value. But as you mention, human may not do well without feeling they are contributing to society with their capacity.
