There are a ton of apps that use Location Always On - I've got like 20 of them running right now. We consent to those apps getting access to our location to give us the weather, or nearby information, etc.... but that consent apparently also means that our location data is also sold to third parties who are able to aggregate with other data which is then also sold on.
The data is apparently anonymous and secure... but this whole industry is self-regulated, so who is to say that it is... also, you're the only one who goes to your house and your work each day, it's not hard to figure out who the data is about.
