Bug Squish Animation - Made in Dragonbones Pro Animation Suite
Hi everyone, those of you who follow me will know that I have not posted for quite a few days now, that's because I have been busy creating animation assets for my Dtube show!
The assets are created in Affinity Designer, a vector art program. As you can see from the below image, all the limb joints need to be rounded, as this allows the joints to pivot smoothly once animated.
After the assets are exported from Affinity Designer, the next stage in the workflow is to import them into Dragon Bones Pro Animation Suite and build the Armature to link the components together. This process essentially links the images to a skeleton, defining the pivot points for each asset.
Animation are then created by moving limbs, or making changes between keyframes. The finished animation is exported as a series of stills which are then used to render an MP4 video in Krita.
The linked Dtube video is just a quick animation I made to make sure my Armature was correct and to squish any bugs, stay tuned for more animations in the future!
