Eyeshadow Blending Brushes for Advanced Color Blending – Techniques, Why and How to Use Them
Have you ever applied different colors of eyeshadows only to be disappointed by the results?
You’re not alone. A lot of people attempt to apply eyeshadow like their favorite celebrities, hoping to mirror the way those people look in fashion and beauty magazines.
Regrettably, they don’t always get the look they want. Oftentimes, the issue is the way they apply their eyeshadow, not just the color or brand they’re using.
The best way to apply eyeshadow properly is to learn advanced color blending techniques.
What Tools Will You Need for Better Results?
To perfectly blend your eyeshadow colors, you’ll need the following types of blending brushes.
• Large and domed/tapered
• Dense and rounded
• Small and tapered
• Fluffy and tapered
• Petite and tapered
• Fluffy and rounded
How to Use an Eyeshadow Blending Brush
Are you ready to apply eyeshadow to look like your idols? Here’s how to do it.
Decide What Eye Look You’re Going For
You’ll need to use different blending brushes for different jobs. For example, you won’t use the same brushes for a smoky, cat-eye that you would use for an everyday, natural sort of look.
Some brushes are better for blending shadow into your crease, while others – typically the larger brushes – are better for blending color all over your eyelid.
Choosing which blending brushes to use depends on how you apply your eyeliner that day. For instance, if you want to “finish off” your pencil liner or intensify it, you’ll want to use a small, tapered brush. If you’re only going to use a liquid liner that day, you won’t need a brush.
Prime Your Eyelids
Applying a primer will help keep everything in place, which will make both applying and blending eyeshadow so much easier. Just make sure it’s completely dry before you start applying the shadow.
Always Start Light Eyeshadow
A contrast between lighter and darker colors on your eyelids will give your look more depth, interest, and drama. Apply a lighter shadow to your full lid.
Start Applying Darker Colors and Blend, Blend, Blend
Where should you start applying darker colors? At the crease line and the outer third part of the eyelid. Dark eyeshadow application here will enhance the shape of your eyes. Use a smaller brush to apply the darker color(s), and then a medium-sized brush to lightly blend the dark shade into the lighter one.
When you learn to blend your eyeshadow like a pro, your eyes are bound to look gorgeous.

Haha, well I am not getting many comments on Steemit. I don't know why, but I guess it's just not my niche for now. Not many beauty bloggers are active. 😞Except you 😂Just kidding 😁
Thanks for the kind words, see you around 😀
The same goes for you!
Hi! I think most people just don’t feel very competent enough to comment on artistic topic. They either don’t want to sound ignorant or make irrelevant comments. Your work is at a very high standard for make-up artists. They just learn some new tips and wonder how you could have so much knowledge on the subject!
I am always amazed by your new take on your experiments and passion on the subject. You’re great at what you do; but most people here are not too artistically incline.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers.
Hmm..I've never thought of the way you just described it, which makes sense as not everyone is into art as there is no right or wrong and it all just depends on how you see/feel about art in general and this could be anything!
Thank you 🥰 I appreciate your support and lovely words which mean a lot!!
I'm always looking for new colors/techniques to come up with new ideas and look + tutorials!!❤️
