If you want to be successful on Dtube, the most important thing is to understand your audience. But how do you do that? The best way to do that is to look at statistics. Only problem: DTube doesn't have any. That is why it is a good idea to also have a Youtube account. Because there you get tons and tons do statistics. Everything from age, to location to gender to device to viewing time to best keywords can be soon in your Youtube analytics.
Why is that important?
Let's say you have a video about cooking that is really successful. But your next video about cooking is not really successful at all. How would you know what the problem is? On Youtube, you can dig into your stats and see that most of your viewers are female, around age 18 and from south america. So, now that you know that, you can see what kind of cooking would interest them most and what time is best for you to post your video.
Sure, your Dtube and Youtube audience might not be the same, but here are three more reasons: a) building am audience on Youtube is a lot easier b) you can invite them over to Dtube and c) you still get a lot of important insights on how to get better at doing videos.

Problem with you tube is that its censoring so many people and closing accounts for political reasons that its getting to the point that people are leaving in droves!
It's still a lot bigger and will be for years to come. You can use it as a free tool to grow you audience. Either use that chance or don't. That's really up to you. But you are throwing away a lot of good information and reach. ;)
