Total War Arena #11 - Javelin Kings
Enemy banners all around us, the stampeding of hoofs, howling of ravenous dogs and the endless battle cries of our enemies as they charge from all sides. Normally this would spell utter ruin with too many of our flanks exposed and challenged but with 5 javelin regiments we are just melting through the heavy infantry and our nearby allies are doing a brilliant job protecting us from as many incoming troops as they can.
We've had alot of trouble with javelins and particularly when running them together too many and it allows cavalry to overrun you at which point there's little you can do. I think the key to our success was that we abandoned the right side of the map letting our allies spawn on the left and spawning on the right ourselves but marching to the left side to get surrounded by our friendly melee troops.
The result of this was that our army was one unit and very organised while the enemy kept marching in from all sides particularly after unsuccessfully finding anything to kill on the other side of the map they'd walk in from behind us but we always seemed to be finishing one fight off and ready to start another just in time. I credit this to our high penetration and damage of the javelins they are the fastest way to put down enemy melee that doesn't have its shields raised.
I loved this fight, it was alot of fun doing monstrous amounts of damage and destroying everything that came at us while weaving between allied troops to avoid being charged. As i said without the support of our allies this would have been over pretty fast, javelins can have really strong games but its also very easy for them to have very poor games.
@Fiskey is playing Julius Caesar with 3 Javelin units and i'm playing Commander Sulla with 1 Swordsman and 2 Javelin units. While @Hazza1020 is playing 3 Barbarian Cavalry but he bit off more then he could chew while trying to get behind the enemy lines.

Total War Arena is an upcoming free to play rts moba being published by wargaming the makers of World of Tanks and World of Warships. It's currently still in closed beta and you have to purchase something from the arena shop to grab a key to the beta.
Arena is a 10v10 game where players select the commander of their choice and 3 unit regiments of their choice as they fight battles you earn silver and experience and can equip and upgrade the units that you're using as well as level up the commander and improve their abilities.
