Teenagers Battle The Thing (1959) horror movie
A group of High School students and their teacher go on an archeological dig and discover an ancient mummy that eventually comes to life. Resembling over-sized roadkill, it hides in an orange grove, but pops out to terrorize the teens and the teacher.

Note: The day-for-night scenes don't seem to use any kind of filter. Instead, the director tried filming in the shadows and the cover of shade to simulate night time. It didn't work very well and it's very apparent that it was shot in broad daylight, under the blazing sun.

Trivia: This movie was later incorporated into another film with extra footage shot fifteen years later, under the title of Curse of Bigfoot.
