Light the world Day 9: "I was sick, and ye visited me."
Today's topic on #lighttheworld was culled from Matthew 25:36
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Sickness is never a wish for ourselves nor anybody yet, at some point in our lives, we fall ill and thus, need care and support from close friends or perhaps any caregiver at our point of need.
Sometimes, we need to exit our comfort zones and seek to visit sick people both those at their homes and those in the hospital.
PERTINENT WAYS WE COULD COMFORT THE SICK ARE;
Provide food for the sick: Organize some food to give and share, to sick friends and family members. Some Church group extend this kind act to visiting non-relatives in various hospitals.
Offer to help with the day-to-day stuff that needs to be done, such as a grocery trip, a Target run, doing a load of laundry, bringing home cooked food.
Laugh, chat, and share as you normally would. Remember that a person is not defined by illness. They are still the same friend to you and want to continue to do their part in the give and take of friendship.
Don't disappear: If your friend or loved one is ill and they need to take some time to recover, allow them to do so without completely disappearing from their life. Remind them that you care.
Bring communion to the sick:
Bring the bread and communion wine to the sick. You could invite a Priest or a Pastor to offer communion bread and wine to the sick.
How pleasant will it be living and dying in Christ Jesus our lord.
"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
James 5:13-15
And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
Luke 3:11
Some Church groups are specifically meant to provide care and love to the sick, needy and homeless in our world today. One of such Church group groups is "Saint Vincent the Paul".
My Dad has been a committed member of this group since 1970 till this day. He has served in various leadership position in St. Vincent the Paul.
He has been opportune to visit the less privileged, the sick and Prisoners in various places with gifts items and money as well as sharing bible verses and religious articles.
I grew up knowing my Dad for this act of kindness all my life. He is fond of inviting the destitute to our home at all events he hosted.
During Christmas, He would drive the family to visit the sick and aged in their homes and those in hospitals too.
I remembered visiting a leprosy hospital with my Dad and Sibling as a child.
I grew up seeing loads of Children in my house during Christmas and Easter season as well as on some events hosted by my family.
This act has brought enormous blessings on my family members. My Dad for instance has never fell ill since I knew him, he has always been helped at his point of need be it financial or otherwise.
His kindness has also brought forth fortune and luck to myself and my Brother as we are always shown extreme love wherever we go.
I would hear things like "Are you the Patron's son? Oh! What a nice time having you. Your Dad is such a rare gem".
I feel proud having such a wonderful Father and I sincerely aspire to emulate his Christian lifestyle.
In Essence, showing love and affection to the sick and less privileged provokes more blessings to us and families.
