Walnuts! Once again in our style – the first thing that comes to the mind is it’s good for Brain. Walnuts are an excellent source Omega-3 Fatty Acids and they are rich in Antioxidants. Walnut Halwa is very rich in Nutrients – as it contains other ingredients as well along with Indian Ghee. Here we are coming up with this recipe! Ingredients

2 cups walnuts kernels (akhrot) + to garnish
¾ cup ghee
½ cup grated khoya/mawa
1 cup milk powder
1 cup milk
½ tsp green cardamom powder
1 cup sugar

Method

  1. Crush walnuts coarsely. Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add crushed walnuts and saute till fragrant.
  2. Add khoya and mix and continue to saute. Add milk powder and mix well and continue to saute.
  3. Add milk and mix. Add green cardamom powder and sugar and mix well and cook on medium heat till the mixture thickens to halwa consistency.
  4. Serve warm garnished with walnut kernels.
