Yea, there's significant evidence that he plagiarised... but no one's holding him up as an academic. He didn't use his doctorate to benefit himself and get tenure, but to lead a social revolution.

I also used to agree that it tarnished his reputation, but it would be a shame for us to not acknowledge all of the good that he did. The world needed him then, and we still need him now. This isn't going to take that away from people, and nor should we let it. To anyone that he inspired, he's a legend.
