Diesel locomotives passing Ämmälä, Lahti, Finland

in #dtube7 years ago

Two Dv12 units on their way from Loviisa Port to Kouvola freight station via Lahti. The Loviisa-Lahti track is a relatively quiet unelectrified track with no passenger traffic. Loviisa is a small port town on the coast of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic sea. There is also a nuclear power plant in Loviisa. Lahti is the regional capital of Päijänne Tavastia (Päijät-Häme in Finnish).

Hi Markku. I love the sound of these diesel locomotives. You chicken you moved out the way lol. We used to put coins on the track and it flattens it out. Try it next time.

I also once put a big snail on the tracks in Poland. I think it died.

It may have fallen off the rail before the train.

Good idea. Next time there will probably be a train and not just two locomotives.

I feel great fascination with trains, I have never ridden in one, I have only seen a train in person in the Estado Bolivar where iron and aluminum are extracted (mainly). I have not entered a Subway either, but I like trains more. Here on my island there is no because it is relatively small, but with the transport problem would be a very good solution.

Oh, you live on an island.

I'll be glad to post more train videos on DTube.

Yes. It is about 100km long and almost everything is east (right side).

I never wanted to leave this island for another state of Venezuela, but I'm afraid I'll have to say goodbye to it.

I found it on Google Maps.

It is practically a desert. There are some very small towns and very nice beaches in almost all directions, it is called Peninsula de Macanao.

A curious fact is that about 10 years ago, was going to build a track of Formula 1 in that Penunsula, but Chavez at that time wanted to keep most of the profits and could never do.

That place would have been a perfect location for a Formula 1 track. It might have generated synergy with the F1 organizations and the petrochemical industry.

It's true friend. At that time, as well as all of us who lived here, we had great expectations of this project but ... what a pity!. They played with our hopes again.
I thank you for your interest Markku!

that is awesome @markkujantunen do you have near one of that mechanical used to turn around the train, that would also be great to see it.

You mean a railway turntable? I haven't seen one anywhere.

Yes, that exactly,

that little train is located in a nice wooded area the vegetation that has that place is very green and nice to take a ride on that train without thinking.

It's just two locomotives and there are no passenger trains on that track anyway. But there have been museum trains on other quiet ones.

I figured they were not passenger trains but a train ride through an area like that with that forest would enchant me.

Yes, it's a really interesting thought.

Wow what a sight to see a diesel engine and no electric trains! I think it looks like back in time when Railways was in its core!
