Champions League Final - 20 Steps to One Million - v3.2
Welcome to the beautiful city of Kiev where you find me desperately trying to keep my dreams of 'millionairedom' alive at the Champions League Final. Of last weeks four £1 bets only one survived thanks to Villarreal's late equaliser against Real Madrid.
So here it is, the climax of the football season, the UEFA (duh-duh-duh) Champions League Final (sponsored by Heineken, Continentaaaaaal and Mastercard). Two great teams, giants of European football both. Madrid going for number thirteen, Liverpool a sixth crown of their own. The game promises to be a cracker, Liverpool's swift and devastating attack against Real Madrid's experience, big-game savvy (this would be their third European Cup IN A ROW) and of course Christiano Ronaldo.
The game has been sold by many as Ronaldo against Mo Salah, two players capable of changing and winning a game single-handedly. Ronaldo and Lionel Messi might continue to thrive in their autumn years but soon somebody else will lay claim to the title of best player in the world. After one astonishing season it is too soon for Salah to claim that crown but scoring in a Liverpool win tonight would do his cause no harm at all.
Expect drama, expect goals, expect controversy, expect Sergio Ramos to get at least a yellow card. Will there be a miracle in Kiev? Will Ronaldo continue his quest to be regarded as the greatest player of all time? Or will Mo Salah cap an incredible season with an incredible goal in this incredible debut season for Liverpool?

I’m very sorry on behalf of all connected with Liverpool F.C. and Mo Salah that your bet never came in. Perhaps you should write to that cheating oik Sergio Ramos and ask him to reimburse you! Good luck on the next attempt.
Such a nasty moment that... Ramos is a clever player but ultimately one of the most unlikeable in football. To anyone else, you might give the benefit of the doubt, but Ramos? It's difficult. Believe me, the sight of such a talent coming out of a such a game (and possibly the WC) in such obvious distress puts the loss of £1 into perspective. Let's hope he makes it back for Russia.
