Magic Mushroom Escape

3 weeks until our plane takes off for Mexico. But I guess we've already left the ground!

Carolyn and I are staying at my parents place for now and things are getting pretty awkward. As easy going as we are most of the time; the tension continues to build as we observe my parent's daily diet. The food they eat is replete with unhealthy oils, deep fried foods, sugars, dairy, pork, meat, meat and more meat.

My parents are good people, but their health is dreadful and their life is walking on a tightrope. My father goes to dialysis 3 days a week after the kidney I gave him wound up wearing away to zero. My mother has had emergency heart bypass surgery and suffered a stroke during the operation. And yet they still refuse to improve they diet and lifestyle even a little bit.

In fact they're actually living more decadently and lethargically than ever.

Carolyn and I have, at long last, surrendered. After 12 years of trying to help and educate, it has become clear to us that it is simply not within our power to save them.

Such is life.

Better to focus on what we do have power over; which is our own lives and individual choices.

For a change of perspective we decided to see what would happen when we ingest a considerable amount of the famous and fanciful magical mushroom.

So me, Carolyn, and two other friends of ours found a safe place on the grass in a park, overlooking the sunset and waited for something to happen.

After about an hour one of our friends started writhing in philosophical and visionary thought and expression. But nothing was happening for the rest of us.

So I ate some more mushrooms.

And then it hit us. Carolyn and I began pulling apart the curtains of reality and began to glimpse the beauty and mystery of the great vast primeval wilderness of life and nature.
