Author of Lolita reveals his inspiration to come from Baby Burlesk movies, shot in the 30's and starring Shirley Temple. These short films feature things like toddlers sucking sour milk while a man "moos", toddlers doing strip teases, and toddlers associated with prostitution. You know, wholesome American entertainment.
